Stephanie Gonzalez Guittar

Introduction

I'm an Assistant Professor in the Department of Sociology at Rollins College. I earned my PhD in Sociology and Master's in Applied Sociology at the University of Central Florida. Prior to teaching at Rollins, I taught at Aurora University, Valdosta State University, University of South Carolina-Lancaster, and the University of Central Florida. 

I teach a broad range of Sociology courses at Rollins, including Research Methods, Latinxs in the United States, Poverty & Welfare, and Reproductive Justice. 

My research area of expertise is poverty and homelessness, namely families living in motels in Central Florida. I am currently interested in housing and food insecurity among sub-groups of marginalized groups. I have also published in the areas of reproduction, food insecurity, intersectionality, and the scholarship of teaching and learning.
